Commercial Griddles
Commercial Griddles are a staple of any restaurant kitchen from small to large.
A griddle is a very versatile and functional kitchen appliance which allows for the constant production of many
different types of food. Griddles are especially useful due to the wide variety available, simplicity of use and
small amount of space required.
Typically Commercial Griddles come with two different fuel sources: Gas
or Electric. Gas griddles reach temperature much faster however consume gas: usually propane which can be costly.
Electric Griddles function of standard electricity and obtain temperature at about the same speed as an electric
kitchen stove.
Commercial Griddles are usually made from stainless steel and unlike a stove cook top they do not have burners
but rather one large flat heated surface. When using electric griddles it is important to consider that energy star
griddles save an average of $170/year on restaurant equipment utility bills.
Griddles are particularly useful because they can be used to prepare food at all times of the day. Some typical
breakfast food that can be prepare using a griddle includes eggs, bacon and french toast. Lunch can be a breeze
with griddle for hotdogs, hamburgers and chicken and dinner much the same as chicken and steak can be heated on a
griddle quickly and cleanly.
Griddles are great since they occupy very little space and the surface is very easy to
clean. Griddles do not carry a very high price tag and are commonly available making them a good choice for
restaurant owners. A griddle can be an excellent investment for a small restaurant owner who may not have space for
multiple pieces of equipment or a budget for a large grilling surface. Due to the versatility, functionality and
ease of use a commercial griddle has a place in any restaurant kitchen.
